FAQ'S ABOUT The Oak Workshop

If you have any questions which aren't covered in our FAQ's please feel free to call us, we are always happy to help.
Do you offer finance?
We do not offer finance at this present time- however we are hoping to offer this option in the future.
Do what are the time scales for delivery?
Lead time for our items depend on timber availability and workload in our workshop at the time of ordering. Typically it is 6 weeks from approval of the workshop drawings by the client. We will of course keep you updated via email /phone with timescales etc throughout the process. We do prefer you to collect your order, we love to meet our clients in person, it’s a great opportunity to ask any questions regarding installation, treatment etc, we are always happy to help and advise if we can. As our items are extremely heavy and bulky they cannot be sent via national couriers. We do have a good relationship with a few independent dedicated delivery services that will collect from our workshop and deliver to the customer on the same day, dependant on location. You can contact them yourself to arrange delivery or we can liaise with them on your behalf. The cost of this service is to be paid directly to the delivery firm and is the customers responsibility.
Supply only or supply & installation?
Here at The Oakworkshop we are a manufacture only company. Typically, clients have their own contractors to carry out installation.
Do you sell to the public and trade?
Here at The Oakworkshop we are happy to supply both of our public and trade customers.
Do you have a showroom?
We do not have a dedicated showroom, however we welcome both trade and public visitors to our traditional workshop, where you can see how we work and also see what we have in production at that moment in time. Located in Yorkshire the kettle is always on! Come and join us for a good brew and a chat about your project.
Do you offer free estimates?
Contact us with an initial enquiry, include as much information as you can such as dimensions, materials required ie. oak, hardwood, softwood etc. we will then provide a written estimate based on the given information. A telephone number is always appreciated which we can use to ask any questions we may have.
If you are wish to proceed with the order we would require a 50% deposit in order to secure the order.
Working drawings are then produced using the given dimensions, It is the customers responsibility to check the sizes etc on site, any changes you wish to make should be made in writing via email, drawings will be amended and sent again, it is your responsibility to check that all is correct, as these drawings will be used in the workshop to produce your bespoke joinery. Once you are happy and confident that the drawings are correct we require an email for approval of the drawings. This stage is critical. Changes at this stage are easy to make and avoid costly mistakes for both you as a valued client and us a responsible company.
We keep clients updated with lead times etc via email. We are happy to answer any questions you may have at any time, just drop us an email. The remaining balance of your order is due prior to or on collection. All goods must be paid for prior to items leaving the workshop. We do understand that it is not always possible to collect as soon as the order is ready, we are happy to store items for a short period of time with no extra charges, however, we do ask that the final balance invoice is paid once the order is ready for collection.
